Sharon Kim is an undergraduate senior studying Biological Basis of Behavior at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sharon is interested in how international relations can be improved through medical and scientific collaborations. In addition to visiting hospitals in North Korea with a medical mission, she also helps organize medical conferences with North Korean doctors and medical students in an effort to work cooperatively toward healthcare and research goals. As for her scientific background, she has gained extensive biomedical and neuroscience research training in various fellowship programs at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USC Keck School of Medicine, UCLA Biomedical Institute, and the University of Pennsylvania. During these involvements, she gained a deeper understanding on the importance of policy and diplomacy in improving the healthcare landscape.
Aside from her interests in science and diplomacy, she loves playing tennis as part of the UPenn Club Tennis Team and could indefinitely eat Momofuku Milk Ice Cream Bars.
